This year I had the pleasure of discovering The Mane Quest, a site that is entirely dedicated to horses used in video games. The release of Elden Ring Runes now out, and riding being a prominent feature I was curious to check if they had any ideas about the game's character. I'm not disappointed.
The site, run by creator of the game and horse, Alice Ruppert takes a fun, if also deeply sensible approach to subject topic, and this Elden Ring review is no more different. Instead of reviewing the game, it simply looks at Torrent, and other horses as well. It also analyzes the extent to which they are "realistic" their game's animation and controls are.
In the case of games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, their review clearly leans toward the more realistic side of the equation, because those are real horses that we're playing with and are able to be directly in comparison. For Elden Ring, though, there aren't any horses which is why the review will be a bit different.
Torrent's neck is covered in enough furry shaggy hair to make a Jorvik Wild jealous, his long forelock and large set ears provide him with that Highland Cattle, fresh-out-of-bed look and there's some dapples adorning his back that are cute, though sadly mostly hidden from elden ring items buy online view by tacks and baggage.
Mane Quest's issues eventually come up in places I'd never thought of, but I it's impossible to ignore: Torrent looks like a horse, however their legs bend like...well that they shouldn't much like a goat however, they're not:
